WADI SCREEN

The Wadi Screen is a contemporary spatial divider that reflects TheUrbanative's evolving exploration of material, craft and storytelling. Inspired by the Swahili word wadi, meaning valley, it translates the layered textures and contours of landscapes into a sculptural woven surface.
Produced in collaboration with Grey Room using locally sourced wool, the screen combines a handwoven wool panel with a powder-coated steel frame and a colour stained timber base. The interplay of soft wool, precise steel and richly finished timber creates a balanced dialogue between texture, structure and warmth.
Building on the studio's earlier explorations of woven cord, the Wadi Screen represents a natural evolution in TheUrbanative's design language, where traditional craft and contemporary making come together to create objects with depth, purpose and enduring character.
